Maya Machado

Maya Machado is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at UC San Diego whose research examines Black identity, cultural memory, and Afro-descendant communities in Panama. Her work combines ethnographic methods, visual storytelling, and community-engaged research to explore the evolving meanings of Blackness in Latin America.
